Something new

Sun Nov 26, 2006, 3:08 AM
For those of you who are used to just seeing my landscapes this new work might be a bit of a surprise.
A new departure for me and something I had been wanting to do for many a year but something a certain ex-wife wouldn't entertain but now i'm free of restrictions..
Have been working on this new subject for the past 18 months or so and have enjoyed what i have done especially when the models see their shots and are thrilled to bits with the results.
There is a fair bit more to come and a lot of it in colour for a change.

Didn't realise I had been off line so long, have had a bit of an anti-computer time recently, have never been a fan of them and to be honest if I never saw another one again it would not bother me. Having work with them all day with little break the last thing I want to do is sit in front of one when I get home, or even watch the tv that much but have had plenty of diy to do. Also spent a week in Scotland last month and it was one of my better trips for some years - re-charged my soul batteries! - much warmer than usual and very little wind which made it feel peaceful - and it didn't rain during the day!. It was so relaxing to sit outside my tent by the rivers and lochs to eat rather than huddled up inside trying to keep warm.
Rather than find new areas to explore i stuck to my favourite area I know well and with the good weather just took some long walks and relaxed even more. This was one of those trips where I managed to take some shots every day and even as soon as I arrived which I think is a first! It will be some time before I post any pics as I dont have a darkroom yet in my new house all I can do is develop the films.
Right, thats long enough on this damn computer, will post some more b&w's soonish

So little time

Sun Sep 3, 2006, 2:06 AM
Decided to take some time out decorating to update my portfolio, since moving have hardly had time to sit at the computer, only occasionally late in the evening. its not just a case of uploading pics as they are conventional prints they need scanning as well and quite a few are 16x12 inches but luckily we have 2 scanners at work as i am in the print trade but our large drum scanner has packed up which produces better quality but they just fit into the A3 flatbed we have so have been going in early to get them done before work.
Have been up early this morning uploading on DA before going into DIY mode! Thanks to everyone so far who has already commented and faved I Wish I could sit and reply to you all but I have other things to attend to.

:thanks:

Moving

Next Friday (4th August) I will be moving house so won't be on here much in the next couple of weeks, too much packing - then unpacking! to do. Hopefully will be able to log on now and again. Once I'm settled there will be a fair bit more work to upload. It has taken 9 months to sell my house and get a completion date due to buyers pulling out and a few legal complications along the way but fingers crossed it happens next weekend.

Update:
Installed in my new place now, or rather old place - a victorian semi detached that hasn't been decorated in 18 years! So have my work to do.. first job is my sons bedroom to make him feel more at home, although he is 17 it was his first house move so a bit of a culture shock initially. At the moment I have nowhere to set up a darkroom either which is a bit of an inconvienience but there are some large outbuldings with the house which hopefully in time will become studios (photographic for me and a music one for my son as he is a mean guitar player) but they need serious work - and money!
